Week Two Results

It was a very tumultuous week of football drama, and our fantasy teams were no exception.

Hulking Out lost by nine points in the FFPC Main Event league. In week one, the Tennessee Titans’ Delanie Walker had a season-ending injury, so Don lost his Tight End. He picked up his backup, Jonnu Smith, who gave him a big fat zero. He did not catch one single pass. Zilch. Nada.  Even more disappointing was Don’s number one pick, David Johnson, giving him only six points.  His rank went from 81 to 384 in the FFPC league. Come on, Johnson, you’ve got to up your performance!

We went up against Josh Kroll’s Poor Boyz in the Football Diehards Listeners league, and lost by an astounding 51 points. We got stomped!  Poor Boyz had players scoring 30+ points and we had several with single digits. That was painful, but not quite as painful as Don’s FFPC loss.

On a positive note, I was not eliminated in the 5 Rings Survivor Pool. Living to see another week in that pool is worth a potential $5,000 prize, so I am very happy about that! Three were eliminated this week with their Washington Redskins pick – a choice that we didn’t understand but were glad that they made.

I also survived another week in Bob Lung’s Fantasy Cares Eliminator league with a so-so total of 126.69 points. This is my first attempt at Best Ball, so I am ok with an average score.

Don won his game in the Hometown Trophy league and holds highpoint total for the year by 0.6 points!  Even though he lost last week, he still had the third highest points which helped launch him to highpoint man. Each team in his division is 1-1, and there are four teams who are undefeated.

We are looking ahead to a calmer and more successful week of football. Josh Gordon has been picked up by the New England Patriots, and the Cleveland Browns have a new kicker. Hopefully, David Johnson will find his mojo this week, and all will be well in the world of Fantasy Football.
