Week Twelve Results

Week Twelve was one of the most successful local sports weeks in current history. On Friday, the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Philadelphia 76ers. Ohio State crushed Michigan on Saturday, and our local Girard High School football team won and is going to the State Championship! Cleveland finished strong on Sunday with the Browns beating the Cincinnati Bengals in the Battle of Ohio.

It was also a successful week in the Kurjan household!

Don won his Hometown Trophy League game 110-75 and is tied for first place in his division. I know that he is already envisioning where the gigantic trophy will reside in our living room, but of course it would be bad luck for him to say that. The Fantasy Football gods might hear him and smash his chances of bringing it home! Since I don’t believe in those superstitions, I will say that I am envisioning telling him the trophy can go downstairs in the Sports Room instead of being on display in our country cozy living room.

I survived another week in the 5 Rings Survivor Pool picking the Dallas Cowboys over the Washington Redskins in the Thanksgiving Day game. The Cowboys beat the Redskins 31-23 and were ahead the entire game. No worries! All four remaining survivors will proceed to Week Thirteen.

We also won our Football Diehards Listeners League game beating Bennett Karoll’s I Hope The Bears Are Ok 197.3 – 125.4. We almost had another 200 point week! Christian McCaffrey put up 46.7 points in an outstanding performance. Our Quarterback, Deshaun Watson, had a great week and Cleveland’s Nick Chubb did a great job, too. Our team is in first place in the Diehards League with a 9-3 record and the highest point total.

There are five teams left in Bob Lung’s Fantasy Cares Eliminator Best Ball League. We were a comfortable 24 points ahead of the low point man, Cory Jeffries, but 40 points behind the week’s leader, Jeremy Wyman. As I mention every week, our standing means nothing to anyone except for me. I like to know where we finished the week!

Week Twelve was a fun week. We celebrated Thanksgiving with a delicious smoked turkey and my best ever pumpkin pies. Instead of shopping on Black Friday, we spent three hours playing at Chuck E Cheese’s with our girls and their families. Chuck E Cheese’s is my new favorite hangout with their pizza and salad buffets and fabulous games and rides. We are thankful for family and friends, and feel incredibly blessed.
