Week Seven Results

What are the chances? What are the chances of winning an elite FFPC Main Event League game by 0.1 and then finding out more than a week later that you lost by….0.1?

Is this real? The Mr. Kurjan half of A Fantasy Football Couple is not happy.  His Week Six score went from 147.85 to 147.75 and his opponent’s score went up 0.1. The final score was reversed due to NFL corrections and this little difference of 0.1 adds up to Mr. Cranky Pants.

Don lost another week of his FFPC Main Event to bring his record to 3-4. This means he has to win every single one of the next four games and he also needs to crank out some points. It can happen, and I have certainly not given up hope. This is Fantasy Football and anything can happen! He is ranked 887 overall and I think that is definitely a positive.  Not top ten, but not at the bottom of the barrel either!

On a brighter note, Don won his Huge Trophy Hometown League 121 – 57.8. Wow! He is 4-3, one game out of first, and is leading the league in total points. Not too shabby, Kurj!

I had a big win this week in the Football Diehards Listeners League. Playing against Bob Harris, I came out on top 119.4-72.3. I was more nervous about this game than any other in the last couple of years. Don and I drafted Cleveland Browns Running Back, Nick Chubb, and have had him on our bench all season. I’ve never had so many trade proposals for a player as I did this past week for Chubb. We held on to him despite some fairly good offers, took him off the bench and he brought in a solid 14 points. Lots of Chubb owners are expecting big things from him as the season unfolds.

Best Ball is turning out to be a really fun way to play Fantasy Football! I love the draft and leave it alone style of the game. We came out on the top half of the Bob Lung Fantasy Cares Eliminator Best Ball League. I won’t annoy Don even more than he already is by saying exactly what place we were in since it doesn’t really matter!

I survived another week in the 5 Rings Survivor Pool but the pool commissioner did not. Mister Youngstown took the Jacksonville Jaguars and his final team was knocked out of the pool. Three of us took the Indianapolis Colts, three took the LA Chargers, one took the LA Rams and one took the Atlanta Falcons. It’s been a crazy year and I feel super lucky to be among the survivors.

Week Seven was a lot of fun, right up until Don saw his record for the Main Event league.   We won’t say a lot about the Cleveland Browns game, because there just isn’t a lot to say. Until they are only competing against a fellow NFL team, and not the officials too, they probably don’t stand a chance. The officials calls were so ridiculous on Sunday, that they should never be allowed to call another NFL game, or a peewee game for that matter. Tough calls, tough luck, Cleveland, but that is for another blog post.
