Week Four Recap

The NFL season is in full-swing, early October baseball playoffs have begun, and hockey is back. Lots of sports going on when you count in college and high school football and cross country.

Don and Bobby are still alive and kicking in the 5 Rings Survivor Pool. They both took San Diego for a win, and Don’s second pick of Kansas City was also a win, albeit a close one. The pool lost 33 participants with their unlucky Rams pick. Losses by Green Bay, Houston and Indianapolis took out several more leaving only 50 remaining Survivors.

Don had another disappointing Hometown Trophy League loss by a measly two points. If only. If only he had Tyreek Hill. If only his defense – the Jaguars – had shown up. Lots of if onlys, making it a bummer of a loss.

On the FFPC front, he won both games with decent scores in each: 163-122 and 154-90. Don is 3-1 in one league and 2-2 in the other.

The Cleveland Browns had a huge win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The final score was 40-25 with Baker Mayfield having a super successful game. We are hoping that will quiet the naysayers for at least a few days. The preseason hype was a little on the strong side which made the season opening loss even worse than it would have been under normal conditions.

The second win equals another ornament on our little Browns tree in our sports room.

We love the bottle cap ornament and think it looks great in its front and center position.

The Browns are going up against the 49ers Week Five on Monday Night Football. It is fun to have our team be in contention for every game this year. Our hopes are high and our dreams are big!
