Week Eleven Results

Week Eleven came and went quickly.  We have faced the fact that Don is not going to win the FFPC Main Event this year.  Things are looking really good in the Football Diehards Listeners League and Don’s Hometown Trophy League. The Survivor Pool is down to four. It was a successful week in Bob Lung’s Best Ball League, too.

That is the quick version of our week! For those of you who would like a few more details, please read on!

The 5 Rings Survivor Pool has four remaining players, thanks to the Detroit Lions. The Lions beat the Carolina Panthers 20-19, and I would bet that the two guys that got eliminated will never forget that game. The rest of us all picked New Orleans and Drew Brees didn’t let us down. Brees is having an amazing year, and the Saints crushed the Philadelphia Eagles 48-7.

Don won his Hometown Trophy League 125-78. His record is 6-5 and he is in second place in his division.  He played against Steve.  Steve! Why doesn’t this league name their teams? Wouldn’t it make for better blog post writing if he played against “It Ertz When Eifert”? I think Don needs to suggest that the teams have names next year.

The FFPC Main Event is over for Hulking Out, for all practical purposes. Don can continue to play on for the Toilet Bowl or something terrible like that. He is no longer allowed to pick up free agents. Only playoff eligible participants are allowed to do that. We are both disappointed but we also knew going in that this is an elite league and very difficult to win. He won Week Eleven 155-111, which took his record to 6-5. Not so shabby but not good enough.

We finished the week in second place in Bob Lung’s Fantasy Cares Eliminator Best Ball League. I like to say that even though it doesn’t matter one little bit! There is something about being up at the top of the list that makes me feel like a Fantasy Football expert. This league has been a lot of fun, and it always feels good to contribute to a worthy cause.  We enjoyed seeing pictures from the Toys for Tots shopping spree, and are happy to be taking part in a league that supports Christmas for kids.

Thanks to Tyreek Hill, we won our Football Diehards Listeners League game. Going into the Monday Night game, our opponent Pete Stevens’ team, Mini Ditkas, had two players and we had one – Tyreek Hill. Tyreek scored an outstanding 43.5 to bring us out on top by two points. Sorry Pete. Our record in the Diehards league is 8-3 and I am feeling very confident with Don Kurjan and Tyreek Hill on my team. Thanks Kurj for an awesome job drafting our team!

God Bless America
