The Top Five Things We Are Looking Forward To

This winter seemed longer than usual, probably due to the Covid restrictions that are still in place, in addition to the endless gray skies that Northeast Ohio is known for. Now that Spring has officially arrived, we are getting excited about some upcoming events!

Number Five: One of our favorite places to walk is Lake Milton. It is a small lake, not very far from our home, and we love to go out and walk the trails. This was our first year to go out to the lake during the winter and we were shocked to see how low the water level is. All of the docks and piers are on dry ground, and the shore line is littered with old bricks and broken glass. We found out that every year the lake is drained and around this time of year they begin filling it back up. We have been going out once a week to check the progress and can’t wait until we go and it is full again. Within a few weeks, the lake will be back to normal and the boats and jet skis will be back in action.

Number Four: Opening Day is this Thursday! Baseball is back! Last season stunk. We tried to get into the Covid shortened version but it was hard to be enthusiastic. The Indians were 35-25 last year, ended up 2nd in their division, and then got swept by the Yankees in the playoffs. All the controversy over team names took some of the fun away too. We are over all of that now and ready to head into the 2021 season full of Cleveland confidence. This is our year and we are ready for The Tribe to rock and roll!

Number Three: The NFL Draft will be held for the first time ever in Cleveland on April 29th. Roger Goodell will announce the selections by Lake Erie and some of the prospects will attend. Pre-Covid we planned to stay in Cleveland, get together with friends we don’t see often, and hopefully even run into a few players. We are still going Cleveland and will get as close as we can, grabbing some good blog material.

Number Two: Bees and Flowers. We love all things Spring and Summer. Fresh cut grass, butterflies, fires in the fire pit, the laughter of children playing outdoors and opening our pool. Our backyard completely transforms as spring turns into summer, and we always say our deck is our favorite place to be.

Number One: The King’s Classic Draft Saturday, August 14th and Bob Lung’s Fantasy Football Expo Sunday, August 15th. Both events grow bigger and better every year. After the Draft, everyone heads over to Buffalo Wild Wings for an informal get together. This is the highlight of our summer – seeing Fantasy Football friends that we listen to on the radio and follow on social media. We get to hangout with the Fantasy Football elite! This year, Saturday night will be even better with an Expo party hosted by Fantasy Affair at the Double Tree Hotel in Canton. We cannot wait for this special weekend!
