How We Prepare for Fantasy Football

The countdown is on to Thursday, September 5th, when the NFL season officially begins. We have to be prepared and know our stuff way before then, and we each have our own way of getting ready. With 80 days to go, it is time to get serious!

Speaking of serious….Sirius XM Fantasy plays a huge role in our draft prep. Don listens every single day, sometimes for hours. The amount of information we receive from the Fantasy Football channel is staggering. The hosts – and guests – have an amazing insight along with statistics and projections. One of our favorite shows to listen to is the Football Diehards. Last year, we were in their listener league and played in the championship game and lost to one of the hosts, Mike Dempsey.

Speaking of statistics….Bob Lung’s Fantasy Football Consistency Guide, available here (https://www.amazon.com/2019-Fantasy-Football-Consistency-Guide/dp/1096331934/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=2019+consistency+guide&qid=1560813382&s=gateway&sr=8-2) has a plethora of Fantasy Football player stats. Bob Lung put his number skills to work and created a unique way of knowing which players will consistently put up points. This concept is key to winning in Fantasy Football. Lung’s black and white, no-nonsense, stat-based guide is my favorite. I tried, unsuccessfully, to hide it from Don, but that is a whole other blog post.

Speaking of blog posts….websites, twitter and blogs also offer an unlimited source of knowledge, facts and opinions for Fantasy Footballers. We subscribe to a couple websites and are both active readers of twitter. We love the behind the scenes facts that can be found on twitter – fun and helpful blurbs from people close to the teams.

Speaking of being close to the teams…we can’t leave out the awesome television stations and podcasts that keep us up to date and informed. We have met a few of these professionals and have a lot of respect for the amount of time and energy they devote to Fantasy Football and the NFL in general.
