Draft Personalities

The next 3 weekends will be the biggest draft weekends of the year. Put any group of random people together and you will find several notable personalities.

The loudmouth thinks all of his picks are good, nobody else’s are any good at all and his team is always the best. He will announce his opinion – loudly – every step of the way.

The drinker. This guy goes to the draft to socialize and drink.  His picks get worse as the night goes on so nobody minds buying him a beer.

The rookie is the new guy in the league who has never played fantasy football before. He makes everyone gasp when he drafts a Defense and a Kicker before he drafts his Tight End.

The old school guy who still uses a magazine for research. He thinks he is getting the steal of the draft when he drafts Derrius Guice because he hasn’t kept up with recent news. The magazine he counts on for his fantasy news was already printed when the Redskins Running Back tore his ACL.

The time management team takes the total amount of allotted time on the clock and drafts at the very last second. Every. Single. Pick.

The favorite team guy drafts as many of his team’s players as he can. If he is a Cowboy’s fan, he will wear his Dallas gear and draft his team accordingly.

The Victor. This guy wins all the time. He drafts a good team year in and year out. Nobody wants to be in his division. Don was this guy three years in a row. He brought that humongous trophy home every year and it had to stay in our living room for three whole years! I think his league was thinking about kicking him out if he won a fourth year, but luckily I put the voodoo spell on that trophy and it hasn’t made it back into our home for a few years.

The Commish keeps the league together, keeps everyone informed, can be a peacemaker if necessary, and rarely gets enough credit for all the work he puts into the league.

Notice, we made all of these personalities guys. We do know that women make up a large percentage of fantasy football leagues, so this was just for the ease of writing this post. Also, other than referring to Don as The Victor, there are no comparisons being made to real life league mates!
