Week Six Recap

Week Six may go down as the Week of the Worst Officiating in the History of the NFL. Or it could go down as the Week that the Worst Officiating in the History of the NFL Helped Bobby Stay Alive in the Survivor Pool. Either way, all the good, bad and ugly of Week Six is complete.

Our little Browns Christmas tree still only has two ornaments on it. We won’t be spending too much on Cleveland Christmas ornaments if this is the way the season is going to go. In fact, we may very well have enough ornaments to complete the season, if the Browns keep beating themselves and if the officials keep calling imaginary penalties.

The Survivor Pool took another big hit this week when Dallas lost against the Jets, knocking out seven unlucky participants including the Pool Commissioner. The Pool is down to 25 going into Week Seven. Each week it gets harder to pick a winning team, but Don and Bobby are staying strong.

Don played against Dave in his Hometown Trophy League, beating the League Commish 92-88 bringing Don’s record to 3-3. The game against Dave is always a little more competitive, if that is possible, and a little more fun (if Don wins).

In the FFPC Football Guys Players Championship Leagues, Don went 1-1. In one League, Don is 4-2 and in the other he is 2-4. He won 149-147 and lost 158-150. Both close games that could have gone either way. The two teams that Don won with both had Tyreek Hill who came back this week, scoring two touchdowns and helping Don win.

Hunter Henry, Tight End for the LA Chargers, has been out with an injury for awhile and was questionable Sunday. He played the late game and Don didn’t want to take a chance on him not playing and getting stuck with a zero. Henry went off, scoring 30+ Fantasy Points, which would have won Don’s third game. It made Don feel a little better about not playing Henry when he read Fantasy Mojo’s post on Twitter: Henry is 100% owned in the FFPC Main Event Leagues, but was only played by 20%. It would almost take a crystal ball to call that one.

Looking back, we did not write a Week Five Recap. We had a lot going on last week with work schedules and after work activities, but there wasn’t a lot to write about since Don lost all three of his games! Sometimes it is better to just get up, dust off and start over again.
