The Playoffs, the Flu Bugs and the Super Bowl

Since our last blog post, a lot has happened – some good, some bad.

Don lost his playoff game against Andy, who ended up being the League Champion. Congratulations, Andy! Maybe you can send us a picture of that huge trophy.

If Don had listened to our advice, he would have won his playoff game. He changed out his players about thirty minutes prior to kickoff, benching Tevin Coleman, and playing Jamaal Williams instead. He lost that game by 9 points. Jamaal Williams gave him 1.2 points. Tevin Coleman had 105 yards rushing and two touchdowns. 22.5 points!

This is the second time in two years that a switcheroo cost Don a huge win. Rule Number One: Don’t switch.

Then came the flu bugs. One of us got the flu vaccination and one didn’t. We both got the flu. Fever, aches and pains, nausea. This season’s influenza is bad business. We have friends who have been hit with Influenza B, recovered for a few weeks and then been hit with Influenza A. Who has ever had the flu twice in the same season? To everyone who is suffering from the cold and flu season, you have our deepest sympathy. It is no fun at all.

We placed our ten dollar bet that the Cleveland Browns would be in this year’s Super Bowl, and THAT didn’t happen. It was a tough Super Bowl to watch because we wanted both teams to win. We like the 49ers because their owners are from the Youngstown area. The 49ers have even stayed in Youngstown and practiced at Youngstown State University to keep from traveling back and forth across the United States between games.

We like the Chiefs because of Andy Reid. Reid is well respected and we wanted him to have a Super Bowl ring. We are happy he finally won a Super Bowl!

Back to the Browns…there is always next year. New GM, new coach, new coordinators, new hope.
