The Fantasy Football Expo 2025

(And our anniversary weekend)

Those of you who know us, know that Fantasy Football, specifically Bob Lung’s Fantasy Football Experience Weekend, saved our marriage. We were not A Fantasy Football Couple back then, and could barely be called a couple at all. We were each busy with our own interests and only occasionally had fun doing things together.

Back in 2016, Don received an email announcing a Fantasy Football Experience weekend. He really wanted to go to the once-in-a-lifetime, two day event featuring experts and Hall of Fame members, but I had absolutely no interest in attending. Don did not want to attend alone, so we made a deal that if he bought a Coach purse for me, I would go to the Hall of Fame. I proudly carried that new bag to the event, but it didn’t take long until I felt a little bad. We had a blast!

We wrote about this exceptional weekend and the impact it had on our relationship in a blog post called “Looking Back” that you can read here. A lot of couples probably go through some of the same issues we did – nothing catastrophic, just too much ho-hum and not enough in common. For those of you who are wondering, I am still using the Coach purse that I got for attending the weekend with Don!

That first Canton weekend has led to many more, all of which fall on or near our wedding anniversary. We can’t think of any better way to spend our special day than at the place where we reconnected. All the friends we’ve made make this time even more special.

Every year, The Fantasy Football Expo gets bigger and better and this year is no exception. Bob Lung, our favorite King of Consistency, added a special draft to Saturday’s lineup specifically for the fans – The Fan’s Classic. Fourteen experts chose their favorite fan to represent them in this redraft league.

Michael Fabiano and Bob Harris chose us to represent them in this first ever Fan’s Classic Draft! Don is Team Fabs and I am Team Harris; this is going to take our competitive nature to a whole new level. We have been in leagues before including The Dirty Laundry League and our newly created Friends and Family League. We played each other in the playoffs in both of those leagues. (Ask Don who won those games!)

We encourage everyone to go to The Fantasy Football Expo – even those who don’t take it seriously. This community is the friendliest there is and you will gain knowledge and friends.
