Don’s 2019 Fantasy Draft Week

Don’s Trophy League always holds their draft on the Saturday before Labor Day. This past week he also had drafts for both of his FFPC Football Guys Players Championship Leagues.

Don had the fourth and the tenth picks for the two FFPC Leagues. He feels confident with both of his teams, but knows he has a lot of waiver wire work to do during the season in order to improve.

Don did something he had never done before with his tenth pick team – he drafted a Quarterback with the third pick. He knows…all the experts say wait for the Quarterback and he knows he broke the rule! The reason he decided to be a rebel was because he got Tyreek Hill with his second pick, and when his turn came back around Patrick Mahomes was still there. Both of these guys play for the Kansas City Chiefs high power offense and Don believes they will have the chance to connect on 12-15 touchdowns.

In the other FFPC draft, he had the dreaded fourth pick that nobody wanted this year. Don went with his gut and picked Nick Chubb. We both think this is his year and Chubb is going to excel in the Brown’s offense.

Don took LeSean McCoy in this League, and as soon as the draft was over, his phone dinged with a notification that McCoy had been cut from the Buffalo Bills. When he picked McCoy, he was hoping this would happen and that he would be traded to Houston. Even better, McCoy almost immediately signed with Kansas City.

In his Hometown Trophy League, Don had the ninth pick. The Hometown 16-team League has a lot of different rules. Touchdowns over 50 yards are double – knowing this, Don went with Tyreek Hill for his first pick.

His strength in his Hometown League lies in his receivers. He only has to start one running back, so he built this team around receivers.

Don’s Hometown Trophy League draft is the most fun because these are guys he has played against for 20 years. They only get together for their draft, but they are like old friends.

Teams are chosen and we are sitting on go!
