It is hard to believe that we are already in Week 13 of the 2017 NFL season! As in most sports seasons, there have been ups and downs, ins and outs, wins and losses; and here we are.
We lost the last five games in the Pros vs Joe’s league – Bob Lung’s 2017 Big Guy Bowl League. That terrible losing streak gave us a record of 5-6 which wasn’t good enough to make the playoffs. The top six teams included three Pros and three Joes. Bob Lung, the Consistency Expert, leads the pack with a record of 8-2-1. MNFootballChic73 is right behind him at 8-3. Even though we didn’t make the playoffs, we had a great time playing in Bob’s league and hope to be invited again next year!
Don is tied for the last playoff spot in his Hometown Trophy League. He has been plagued with injuries and has a 5-7 record. He needs to turn things around quickly or we won’t have to worry about where the four-foot-tall trophy will be placed in our home!
Don and I have both been out of the Survivor Pools for a few weeks, but Bobby is hanging tough and picking winners every week! Beginner’s luck is a real thing – never doubt its power. He has learned the rules throughout the season and has progressed to making early picks, even winning the Thursday game last week. There are still seven remaining survivors, but with each week a little tougher, we expect that number to decrease quickly.
The FFPC League is rocking and rolling. Don ended the regular season in 19th place (out of thousands of players) and won the first round playoff game. If he wins this week, he will win his league and the Golden Ticket to next September’s FFPC Main Event in Las Vegas. I have been super excited about this league because of the possibility of him getting to go to Vegas. Top prize for the League is a nice $250,000, and I don’t see any reason why he won’t win it. His FFPC was his favorite team from the beginning, and his players have proven themselves over and over again.
