The Beginning of Summer

We spent most of our weekend preparing for summer. This included at least three trips to The Home Depot, several hours of cleaning up and planting, and we finally opened our pool. Spring came late in our part of the world, so we were behind schedule as far as swimming pools go.

Sister Jean

The star of this year’s NCAA tournament is not a basketball player, team or coach. The March Madness superstar is 98 year-old Sister Jean, Loyola Chicago’s Chaplain. This well-spoken nun has gained national attention from her sweet words of wisdom and the obvious love that her team has for her.

Yesterday one of Cleveland’s all-time favorite athletes announced his retirement from the Cleveland Browns. Joe Thomas has been one of our favorite players for years and we wrote a blog post about him last October simply titled ‘10,363’.

Our Favorite Pizza

Yesterday we attended “Slice of the Valley”, an annual Youngstown, Ohio pizza contest. This pizza challenge featured nineteen local pizzerias, all vying for the award of number one pizza in the Mahoning Valley. 

Thome Inducted to Hall of Fame

Jim Thome was a rookie in 1991, and one of Don’s all-time favorite Indians players. He led the Tribe to two world series, and was a true class act. Because he did everything the right way, and was never involved in steroids or other scandals, he has always been a fan favorite. 

A Look Back at Week 17

The 2017 NFL season has come to an end. The Cleveland Browns finished with a perfect record and the Perfect Season Parade will be at noon this Saturday in Cleveland. This year the Browns are 0-16; they are 1-31 over the past two years. Yikes!
