Jim Thome was a rookie in 1991, and one of Don’s all-time favorite Indians players. He led the Tribe to two world series, and was a true class act. Because he did everything the right way, and was never involved in steroids or other scandals, he has always been a fan favorite.
Week Five flew by in a whirlwind of playoff games, football games and the highlight of our weekend, the Rogers Baby Gender Reveal party! When the weekend was over, we had survived our Survivor Pools, won (most) of our Fantasy Football games, and found out that our new little blessing is a Girl!
Game One of the ALDS: The New York Yankees vs the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. Sold out crowd of over 35,000. Seventy degrees. Harvest moon. Indians win 4-0. We were there!
Injuries and bye weeks are going to make roster adjustments a mandatory task from this week forward. This past week was filled with injuries; some of them season ending.
Week Four was an exciting week for Fantasy Football, Indians baseball, Survivor Pools, and for every team other than the Browns. Cleveland Browns fans were left thinking, “What just happened?” as their team went from bad to worse.
We are sitting on go and ready for Week Three to begin! Don’s work schedule is Fantasy Football friendly and allows him to be off on Thursday to prepare our lineup (and cook our dinner). Tomorrow there will be some St Louis spareribs smoking away on our Traeger Grill while Don is Fantasy Footballing.
We could never expect to continue the spectacular run we had in Week One, but I expected to. This week we were quickly sent back to reality with injured players and a couple of losses.
The Cleveland Indians farm team, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, plays at Eastwood Field which is an easy 10 minutes from our house. Scrappers games are a fun time, and a more practical way to get our baseball fix, especially mid-week, than driving up to Cleveland.
