A Look Back on Week Seven

First of all, how did we get to Week Seven already? Seven weeks down, ten to go. We are getting deeper into the season and each win or loss seems to be adding up more.

A big shout out to Bobby who is still alive and well in Jason Robert’s Annual Eliminator 2017 Pool! There are only ten remaining survivors, and we are super proud of how great Bobby is doing in his first ever Survivor Pool! Beginner’s luck or true talent?

A Fantasy Football Couple went down this week in Bob Lung’s Big Guy Bowl League. We were up against Ron Rigney, one of the Big Guy Fantasy Sports experts, and had already lost by Sunday night. Going into the Monday Night game, Rigney had three players left, including his Quarterback and we were down to one with Zach Ertz. We decided to bench Philip Rivers and play Brett Hundley, Aaron Rodgers’ replacement, which ended up being the wrong choice, although it didn’t make any difference in the final outcome.

Don won his Football Guys FFPC game, giving him a 5-2 record. He is ranked 46th at the end of Week Seven so he is still looking good. Don talked with David Dodds, Football Guys’ co-founder, over lunch at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Fantasy Football Experience. We were both very impressed with Dodds and how he turned his passion into a business that employs a large number of like-minded folks.

Skunked. Don lost his Hometown Trophy League badly. It was his lowest point performance ever since he has been in the league, which is going on 20 years. Some of the disaster was due to injuries and some due to terrible performances. Jordy Nelson and Demaryius Thomas gave him a combined total of 2.2 points. His kicker gave him the highest point total of all his players – the kicker! He had Marcus Mariotta and DeMarco Murray both of the Tennessee Titans, so he was cheering for them and the Browns at the same time. That was another disaster, one of the worst games ever with a final score of 12-9. Field goals were the only thing either team could manage.

Football aside, Week Seven was an amazing weekend in Northeast Ohio with clear blue skies and highs near 80 degrees! We have had an incredible fall season so far with gorgeous leaves and beautiful weather. Pumpkins, fall colors and outdoor activities make small town Ohio a great place to be in October.
